  POM (polyoxymethylene) modification can be achieved through several routes:

  Filling and Reinforcement: Incorporating inorganic materials like Al₂O₃, MgO, glass fiber, carbon fiber, glass beads, mica, talc, calcium carbonate, silica, or potassium titanate enhances strength, stiffness, hardness, heat distortion temperature, and dimensional stability. These reinforced POM materials are used in complex mechanical structures, thin-walled precision parts, and engineering products.

 

  Toughening and Blending: Using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), nitrile rubber (NBR), modified polyolefins, polyamides, or lignocellulose as elastomeric tougheners improves impact resistance. Mechanical blending and graft copolymerization methods produce super-tough POM alloys.
