Recently, SABIC launched the new LNP™ ELCRIN™ WF0061BiQ resin, which uses marine waste PET plastic bottles as raw materials and is chemically upgraded to PBT resin, giving plastic bottles a "new lease of life" and helping the circular economy.

The new SABIC LNP™ ELCRIN™ WF0061BiQ resin is upgraded and recycled using innovative chemical methods. As the latest member of the LNP ELCRIN iQ chemical upgraded recycled materials family, this new material not only helps support the circular economy, but also serves as a potential replacement for virgin PBT resin.

 

Using SABIC LNP™ ELCRIN™ WF0061BiQ resin to replace virgin materials can help product manufacturers eliminate halogen additives and reduce environmental impact by reusing plastic waste.

 

LNP ELCRIN WF0061BiQ resin is expected to provide customers with UL2809 traceable certification reports, which not only ensures the safety and reliability of plastic recycling sources and the quality of recycled materials, but also helps improve the sustainability and brand value of end products.

 

Marine PET waste is depolymerized and repolymerized into PBT materials through SABIC's proprietary iQ chemical upgrading technology. This process surpasses traditional mechanical recycling processes in terms of product quality and performance consistency.

The excellent performance enables LNP ELCRIN iQ materials to be used in outdoor thin-wall molding applications such as the production of electrical equipment housings.

 

Not only does it perform well in consumer electronics such as laptop fan housings, car seat fan housings, automotive electrical connectors and housings, but it also performs well in infrastructure such as 5G base station fan housings.

 

The safety of SABIC LNP™ ELCRIN™ iQ resin series should not be underestimated. According to the GreenScreen benchmark rating for safe chemicals developed by the non-profit organization Clean Production Action (CPA), SABIC LNP™ ELCRIN™ WF0061BiQ resin and its iQ family materials have or will soon be certified with 3 points or more (total score of 4 points).
