PBT offers several advantages, including high mechanical strength, stiffness, heat resistance, excellent electrical properties, and good chemical resistance. It is easily processed and provides a high-quality surface finish. However, PBT is susceptible to hydrolysis in acidic or alkaline environments and can be notch-sensitive. Designers must account for these limitations in applications requiring long-term durability under harsh conditions.
