PA6 monofilament finds application in surgical sutures and even in specialty items like wig bases. The material's precision molding capabilities enable its use in digital rotating disks, electrical terminals, transmission gears for electronic typewriters, and belt filters for printing machinery where accuracy and consistency are paramount.
Other diverse applications demonstrate PA6's versatility. It is employed in manufacturing disposable lighter housings, alkaline dry cell battery separators, motorcycle helmets, office equipment enclosures, swivel chair components including corner wheels and seat mechanisms, inline skate wheels, and high-strength fishing lines. PA6 film exhibits excellent gas barrier properties combined with superior oil resistance, low-temperature impact strength, and puncture resistance, making it ideal for food packaging applications particularly for frozen meats and processed products like ham sausages. Furthermore, PA6 is available in semi-finished forms including rods and plates for machining applications, and is extensively used for gears, bearings, and other mechanical transmission components requiring self-lubrication and wear resistance.
