CHIMEI, the world’s leading performance materials manufacturer, is proud to announce that the company completed the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification for the whole plastic and rubber materials product line in September 2023. This achievement will expand the areas of application for the company’s sustainable plastic and rubber materials and satisfy CHIMEI’s clients from all sectors in their requirements toward sustainable materials.
CHIMEI obtained the first set of ISCC PLUS certification for its products in October 2022, and has released the Ecologue™ series of biomass ABS and bio rubber products subsequently. Because the raw materials of bio-based products use renewable raw materials (sources such as used cooking oils and waste from the vegetable oil manufacturing process) to replace fossil feedstock, they can provide customers with low-carbon, carbon neutral, and carbon negative product schemes based on different ratios. After the whole product line has obtained ISCC PLUS certification, CHIMEI will expand communication with customers from various industries to widen the scope of bio-based material applications and assist customers in releasing sustainable products.
ISCC PLUS adopts a mass balance approach to ensure that renewable materials are correctly calculated and used in the production process, and provides traceability throughout the entire supply chain from raw materials to the final product, providing a standard applicable to product sustainability anywhere in the world.
