Advantage integration, jointly start a new recycling journey
At the ceremony, Olivier Guise, Director of Technology Innovation Department, Asia Pacific, SABIC, and Xie Xiaohan, General Manager of TOMRA Resource Recycling Division China, jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation. The two parties will integrate their respective advantages in sorting technology and petrochemical fields, and jointly develop more efficient and environmentally friendly sorting and recycling solutions, focusing on the regeneration of waste polyolefin flexible packaging and other waste plastics, and promoting the petrochemical industry to develop in a more sustainable direction.
TOMRA and SABIC have a common pursuit in technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the field of resource recycling. Based on the memorandum of cooperation, TOMRA will use its professional advantages to sort high-purity waste polyolefin materials from domestic waste through advanced mechanical recycling processes; SABIC will focus on material evaluation, improve sorting efficiency from the perspective of materials, and transform waste plastics into recycled raw materials through chemical recycling, empower low-value waste plastics, and reduce resource waste and environmental pollution. In addition, the memorandum also lists that the two parties will further jointly expand cooperation with other industry chain partners, evaluate the possibility of establishing material recycling facilities, and jointly participate in the formulation of relevant sorting standards.
Moving forward hand in hand to create a waste-free future
When talking about the cooperation between the two parties, Xie Xiaohan, General Manager of TOMRA's Resource Recovery Division in China, said: "SABIC has been actively cooperating with the entire value chain to support the development of the circular economy through the TRUCIRCLE™ product portfolio and services. As a global leading provider of sensor-based sorting solutions, TOMRA is pleased to work with SABIC. We will jointly explore and take practical measures to achieve closed-loop recycling of plastic flexible packaging."
Best practices for sustainable development. Looking ahead, TOMRA will actively explore more cooperation opportunities with SABIC to jointly promote the development of the resource recycling industry in China and around the world and realize a "world without waste".
